A slaw that keeps forever and has a great balance of sweet and tart. I especially like the addition of caraway, it has a nice nuance to the slaw. A great do ahead when you are busy. Ingredients:

a few grinds of black pepper |
1 green pepper sliced |
3 lb. head of cabbage, shredded |
2 medium onions, slivered |
Directions:
1. Boil sugar, oil, vinegar, salt, mustard celery and caraway seeds together. 2. Pour over green pepper, onions and cabbage. 3. Add a few grinds of black pepper. 4. Put in a covered dish and refrigerate 24 hours before serving. |
