1st Place Fair Cheese Bread |

Came out of my Los Angeles Fair Cookbook. Serve with chili or soup. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon dry mustard |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 dash pepper |
2 eggs, beaten |
1/4 cup margarine, melted |
2/3 cup milk |
1 cup shredded cheese |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Grease a 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 loaf pan. 3. In a mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, dry mustard, salt and pepper. 4. In another bowl combine eggs, margarine and milk. Add flour mixture and cheese mix well but do not beat. 5. Pour into loaf pan. 6. Bake for 1 hour approximately. Check after 45 minutes of cooking. 7. Cool for 10 minutes and remove from pan. 8. You may sprinkle 1/3 cup of chopped onion and paprika on top before baking if desired. |
