1- pound fresh mushrooms ( or 1 large can chopped &drained) |
3- tablespoons butter |
4- tablespoons butter |
4- tablespoons flour |
2 1/2- cups chicken stock..............or ( milk) |
1- egg slightly beaten |
1- teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1/2 - teaspoon salt |
1/2- teaspoon paprika |
strips of pimento |
strips of green pepper |
parsley |
stuffed olives |
Directions:
1. Peel and slice your fresh mushrooms and saute them in 3 tablespoopns of butter for 10 minutes..........( if you are using canned mushrooms drain them first) 2. make the white sauce 3. by melting 4 tablespoons butter in a saucepan and stirring in the flour, blending well....... 4. add the chicken stock or milk, stirring constantly.... 5. cook until smooth 6. stir constantly to prevent lumps 7. place the mixture in a double broiler over hot water, add a slightly beaten egg, stirring constantly until well blended......... 8. stir in the worcestershire sauce, salt, paprika and mushrooms 9. don't add the green peppers or pimento until just before you serve the dish.. 10. garnish with parsley and stuffed olives 11. serve with hot toast cut into triangles ................ |
