Another appetizer pizza in my collection. This uses puff pastry and is colorful as well as tasty! Ingredients:
1 sheet of puff pastry |
2 medium red bell peppers |
2 med green bell peppers |
2 medium yellow bell peppers |
1/2 cup sliced olives( green or black or kind you like ) |
1 egg yolk |
1 tbs water |
1 lb fontina cheese |
fresh oregano or dried oregano to taste |
Directions:
1. Thaw pastry 2. Chop peppers 3. Slice cheese 1/4 inch thick slices 4. Roll pastry sheet to a 12 inch by 12 inch rectangle 5. Place on ungreased baking sheet 6. Prick pastry with tinges of a fork 7. Beat yolk with 1 tbs water and brush over pastry 8. Bake 12 miutes 400F till puffed and golden and set aside 9. Meanwhile saute peppers till tender in some olive oil 10. Place the cheese, peppers and oregano over pastry 11. Bake another 7 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted |
