Yet another Mennonite recipe. Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
2 cups sugar |
3 cups flour |
4 eggs |
1 cup cold water or 1 cup milk |
2 teaspoons cream of tartar |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Cream butter. Add sugar and blend. Beat in eggs. 3. Sift tartar and baking soda with flour. 4. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk and vanilla. 5. Pour into a large greased and floured cake pan or layer pans. Bake in 350 oven for 45 min for large pan; 30 min for layer pans. |
